What you'll be doing

You will be ​joining one of our engineering squads to develop and scale our backend systems. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing LOGIVAN’s cloud-native core backend platform and services which serve all of our client mobile and web apps
• Taking major part in finding technical solutions for our business and product problems
• Collaborating across functions in your Scrum team, working with Product Owners, Web & Mobile Engineers, QAs and Tech Leads to deliver impactful products and features
• Peer-reviewing other members’ work
• Creating technical documentation for the modules and components you own
• Training and mentoring more junior engineers
• Being a part of our migration from monolith to microservices architecture

Must-haves

• Expertise in one of these languages: Ruby, Python, Java, Javascript (NodeJs)
• 4 years of relevant work experience as a Backend Engineer/Developer
• Excellent technical problem solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies, tools and methodologies
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Extensive REST API development experience
• Hands on experience with relational databases like MySQL, Postgresql or NoSQL like MongoDB, ElasticSearch
• Experience with at least one of these topics: caching, messaging queue, search engines, NoSQL, microservices, performance optimization.
• Proficient in writing clean code, following good principles, design patterns and best practices, covered with tests
• Good written and verbal communication, team player with a collaborative work ethic
• English language to a good standard

Bonus points

• Having a big picture mindset, ability to think like the end user to understand, fulfill and delight customers
• Understanding of domain-driven design, event-driven architecture and having some experience with large systems
• Experience in shipping applications to production: CI/CD pipeline, monitoring & operation
• Experience in working with cloud platforms like Heroku, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services
• Experience with DevOps, containerization / Docker / Kubernetes
