JOB PURPOSE:
The position is responsible for providing support to students regarding internship and job placements, identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with employers and industrial stakeholders. He or she is to obtain employment and experiential opportunities in business and industry for students and alumni in all curricula. Counsel, prepare and enhance the hiring potential of students, new graduates, and alumni into the job market. The role is subject to change depending on the needs of the University.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Industrial Relations and Employers’ presence on campus
- Maintain, develop, and expand the networks with the industry and human resources community, as well as new forms of corporate-university careers partnerships with industrial partners.
- Take ownership and initiatives in all activities related to industrial partners’ relations.
- Act as the primary contact with employers to organise student career and employment activities, placements, and other corporate-university partnerships. The partnerships are including but not limited to the followings:
• Sponsorships for charity projects, competitions, seminars and talk series, etc.
• Careers and employability activities (employer branding, career information and recruitment events, workshops and seminars, company visits and field trips, sharing talks from guest speakers and business partners, career fairs, etc.)
• Employment-related services, such as internships and jobs for students and alumni, tailor-made work placement programmes for students
- Develop an active on-campus business and industry presence. Schedule and advertise campus recruitment for employers.
- Identify chances to increase the visibility of BUV Career Services. Market BUV Career Services to business and industry by a diversified range of approaches, such as attending networking events, introducing BUV Career Services’ presence at education, and careers-related events, targeting mailings and e-mailings, through involvement in business associations such as the Chamber of Commerce, signing MOUs/ Partnership Agreement, and so on.
- Facilitate and moderate, take an MC role in guest speaker’s sessions and seminars that have partners’ presence to ensure the event flow is well managed and deliver the expected outcomes.
Career and Employment Services
- Assist students in all aspects of the job search, including identify employment options that match their career interests and objectives, resume writing, interviewing techniques and job referrals.
- Work closely with other team members, students, employers, and any relevant stakeholders to understand the expectation of students and employers to ensure all stakeholders are satisfied and all needs are met.
- Ensure accurate and timely information updates, including internships and job opportunities, recruitment events, and employers’ workshops…via Emails, websites, Facebook and Notice Boards.
- Advertise and market the employment services within the University, announce internship and job openings to students, support students to prepare CVs and cover letters, interview skills… to maximise successful placements.
Operation & Administration
- Record & Filling system: Maintain and update the record of keeping and filing system of job postings, employer contacts, industry partners, alumni database and status, students, etc
- Administration: Assist in the administration of the operations of the jobs in charge.
- Database: Maintain and improve the career placement database that can capture collaborations between the university and industry partners
- Customer Services: Ensure quality customer services & timely responses to a variety of written requests from corporate partners, students and parents for information relating to career services via telephone, correspondence and/or electronic mail
Others
- Undertake any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Participate and support in other the extra-curricular activities of the department
- Assist the Academic and Student Operations Dept in other areas when the need arises
- Assist the department in preparing periodic reports and newsletter updates for Management and the University

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Strong networking and relationship management skills
• Should have experience in building employer relations in a higher education setting.
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Job search and job placement experience
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Must be a graduate from a reputable university, preferably in Business, Education, or Human Resources. An international education is an advantage.
• Flexibility and cultural awareness
• Well informed of labour market trends, employer needs and best practices in career services.
• Vietnamese National
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Candidates who have experience in recruitment consultancy firms and business development, partnership development, a significant network in different industry sectors, including businesses, corporates, NGOs and NPO…etc. will have advantages.
• Must have at least 3 years of work experience.
