Coastal Engineer

We currently have an open vacancy Coastal Engineer in the Advisory Group Maritime & Aviation (M&A) Vietnam at the HCMC office.

Role Responsibilities & Activities:
 Checking calculations, designs and drawings prepared by the other team members
 Communicating with senior experts within the Company
 Preparing specifications and design criteria for coastal engineering works
Working location at Ho Chi Minh office
 Report writing (English and Vietnamese)
Salary: Negotiation
 Analysis and design of coastal structures
 Managing schedule and quality of the assignment within the project
 Assist relevant senior engineers & leaders to achieve the highest quality of the works
Reports to: Report directly to the project manager and/or technical manager
 Meeting with Clients

 Excellent understanding of coastal processes (wind, waves, currents, sediment transport)
 Bachelor of Science degrees in Coastal Engineering
 Experience in performing under time pressure while maintaining the required technical quality by following the company QMS
 Willing to travel, sometimes for a few days at a time, as may be required to meet project requirements
 At least 5 years of experience in design of coastal structures (e.g. breakwaters, revetments, etc.)
 Capable of carrying out detailed checking of calculations, designs and drawings prepared by other team members
 Experience in coastal engineering design according to International design standards (CEM, Rock Manual, BS, etc.)
 Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking), both English and Vietnamese
Preference for candidates that meet the following additional requirements:
 Site supervision experience (coastal structures)
 Experience in designing maritime (port) structures (e.g. quay walls)
 Dynamic Mooring Analysis (DMA) experience (Termsim)
 Hydrodynamic modelling experience (Mike 21, SWAN)
 Experience working on international projects
 (Co-) Author of a paper(s) published in a national / international journal (coastal engineering projects)
 Script writing experience (VBA, macro...)
 At least 10 years of experience in design of coastal structures (e.g. breakwaters, revetments, etc.)
 Experience presenting to Clients / large audiences
 Master of Science degree in Coastal Engineering
 Experience preparing costs estimates and construction schedules for coastal engineering projects

13th month salary is fixed, extra bonus plus profit sharing depend on performance;
