Design Coordinator

What You Will Do
• Oversee & review the development of architectural, engineering construction drawings & bid documents
• Conduct site to ensure compliance to design intention
• To supervise a team of Design Engineer & Senior Engineers
• Review consultant&039;s drawings for cost effectiveness, practically so that it meets the client’s requirements and the economic feasibility of design
• Liaise with commercial team to ensure cost is within budget & meets the stipulated specifications
• Assist Client with engaging necessary consultants not yet assigned to the project.
• Observe & report on construction process and construction related issues
• Draft, review, communicate & enforce contractual documents for design & construction professionals
• Manage the project close out process to a successful completion
• Manage resolution of all design related queries
• Develop & complete project specific tasks as required to meet or exceed the expectations of the client and fulfill contractual obligations
• Coordinate and liaise with consultant on the delivery of drawings & technical submissions
• Manage RFIs, technical submittals/shop drawings and processes for structural and architectural disciplines with consultants and contractors
• Initiate and manage the procurement of design, construction and finishing operation.
• Manage & monitor progress of design to be delivered in timely manner
• Coordinate & direct internal resources (Construction Managers, etc.
• Manage the team in planning & analysis of conceptual design & preconstruction activities
• Attend design coordination meeting held between clients, contractors, architects, engineers & consultants to present the project status and anticipate issues
• Coordinate value engineering and cost reduction expenses
• Organize and chair all design review and other design related meetings with client, consultants and or contractors
• Participate in constructability reviews regarding design coordination and completeness

What You Are Good At

• University or College Degree; Relevant Certifications; Construction Supervision Certificate
• Strong computer skills and hands-on ability to utilize project management control systems
• Forward-looking and proactive; an ability to predict and mitigate future risks
• A minimum of 7-10 years experience related project management experience specially in Commercial and Hospitals is required
• Excellent command of English and an ability to write technical reports
• High-rise construction experience; 5-Star Hotel Experience
• Solid understanding of the construction process and application of Structural Design and Engineering best practices
• Willingness to travel within Vietnam and Internationally
