The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for managing the implementation of the resort’s sales and marketing strategies and achieving budgeted top line revenue for the resort. The DOSM is accountable for guest room and catering/banquet revenues. The role is responsible for maximizing profitability for the hotel and ensuring delivery of outstanding quality service for all customers. The DOSM will work closely with revenue management and marketing functions, to develop strategies to maximize Revpar (Revenue Per Available Room) and grow market share. The DOSM is further responsible for the development of the annual sales & marketing budget, as well as ensuring forecast accuracy in conjunction with the revenue management.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for sales target of all divisions, including but not limited to rooms, restaurant, spa, recreational and event.
- Set up the Sales and Marketing Plan (vision, mission, objective and strategy) in short term and long term.
- Hire, Train & Supervise the Sales and Marketing Team to make sure they achieve their individual targets.
- Set up targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures for sales & marketing departments
- Research and implement specific campaigns, pricings, packages, promotions and other activities/offers to meet hotel revenue goal.
- Establish new relationships with potential clients/partners from travel agents, online travel agents, communities, media, corporate segment and public relations channels.
- Attend tradeshows, international fairs, customer events…to seek for new potential clients/partners.
- Keeps close follow up on developments of the competitor hotels (occupancy, structural alterations, renovation, special campaigns, rate promotions, marketing efforts, theme events etc.).
- Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and amenities as well as the F&B offering of the resort
- Feedback and work with the other department heads to ensure delivery of quality services to customers' expectation and satisfaction.
- Maintain excellent communication and work relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers (Ability to effectively listen, communicate and perform diplomacy with internal and external customers and staff in all situations).
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/required.
- Report directly to COO. Work with COO on monthly, quarterly and yearly briefing to the BOM.
