Summary: The local EHS specialist will provide environment, health & safety operational support to the site in the Binh Duong (Vietnam). Additionally, the responsible for working closely with the business to drive implementation of Tecan’s global EHS management system and to ensure all local environment, health & safety regulatory. The local EHS specialist reports directly to the site manager and dotted line report to Head of EHS Offices based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Tasks/Activities:
- Lead the completion of hazard identification and risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions
- Support management of site emergencies such as evacuations and medical emergencies
- Conducts EHS audits/patrol, conduct a EHS risk assessment, recommend and oversee corrective /preventive measures to improve continuously safety and working environment, and to comply fully to local authority regulations.
- Partner with site training management team to develop, refine, and deliver EHS training content to support regulatory compliance and new hire
- Drive the local implementation regulation and Tecan’s global EHS management system (ISO 14001 & 45001) and ensure that local requirements is met.
- Drive accountability to ensure EHS ownership at all levels and instill and foster an EHS culture
- Act as point of contact for all process EHS related matters and provide day-to-day advice and guidance on related issues.
- Responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, directing environmental, and health & safety programs and activities to protect human health and the environment.
- Develop and maintain accurate EHS metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems
- Engage site functional teams, prioritize initiatives and resources to achieve EHS objectives.
- Lead incident/accident investigations to identify root cause, develop corrective, and preventative action plans
- Responsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management and facilitate the business in implementing them
- Support management’s efforts to ensure EHS compliance with Local regulations for site
- Other EHS duties as requested
- Interface with regulatory agencies and perform job duties in compliance with all local mandatory regulations and guidelines, specifically OSHA
- Utilize Lean tools and principles (Kaizen, 5S, Gemba)) to drive Continuous Improvement of EHS programs
