Engineer Division Head (Java, Manager)

#MoMo is the market leader in mobile payments in Vietnam. We strive to make all transactions fast, easy and joyful. We are looking for an experienced Engineer Manager to lead a tech division in MoMo. As a Division Head, you will be responsible for leading multiple sub tech teams, working closely with a Production team and a Business Unit to deliver impactful solutions.

Some of our wins recently:

• Launched the Lixi campaign that ranked number 1 in terms of user engagements and interactions among all other campaigns during the Lunar New Year holidays.
• Building a payment gateway that allows thousands of merchants easily integrate themselves with MoMo, with very little support.
• Deployed hundreds of microservices to production, scaled to hundred thousands of requests per seconds.
• Launched new features like chat, donation, daily step tracking, all in one app.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple sub engineering teams. Work with Product and Business to deploy effective solutions and innovative new products. MoMo is a company with multiple lines of business. You will work closely with one business unit to deliver key business metrics, such as the number of active users and the product revenue.
• Oversee the technical quality of the product line, propose new frameworks and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Offer coaching, training and career path advice to team members. Grow team members to effective leaders. Participate in hiring plans to grow the team.
• Work with other technical divisions to contribute to the common technical infrastructure.

What we are looking for

• 8+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in managing teams.
• Strong engineering skills. Experience in building high-performing systems.
• A builder with strong product ownership. You go the extra mile to meet the demands of the business and product. You take a high responsibility for what you build. You keep a high bar for product quality.
• Strong management skills. You can motivate the team, clearly communicate the technical vision. You can channel the team’s efforts to deliver targets.
