English Caption Editor

The English Caption Editor (or just "Editor") is responsible for edit​ing subtitles. S/he is also responsible for creating, reformating and editing captions, spoting and simulating time codes and accurately transcribing scripts according to specified client guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides feedback to freelancers regarding grammar/s based on client/s guidelines;
Provides quality checking for all files as assigned;
Performs other function-related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
Transcribes English script for subtitle and caption format;
Corrects captions/subtitles according to specified guidelines of the client;
Observes compliance to defined company policies, procedures, guidelines and drives continuous improvement; and
Ensures timely delivery of the assigned file/s;
Corrects mistakes in English grammar such as but not limited to​​spelling, sentence structure, and context;
Spots/time codes for production purposes;

Skills & Qualifications:

Highly analytical and meticulous
Able to work under pressure and minimal supervision
Adaptable with the constant changes in the workflows and client/s expectations
High attention to details
Fluent in English both in written and spoken
Develop a harmonious relationship with the team members to ensure smooth delivery of project/s

Education:
Bachelor&039;s/College Degree in Advertising, Journalism, Education, Linguistics, Mass Communications, or its equivalent.
Work Experience:
Preferably with 1-year experience in a related field; Experience in writing is a plus; Experience in captioning / subtitling is a plus.
Other conditions:
Amenable to work in shifting schedule
