General Merchandising Manager (Expat) - Furniture

Description
To oversee and manage the operations of the Vietnam market ensuring the local entity meets and exceeds its growth and business plans.
* Aim to have no client/ vendor disputes, but do stay active in any negotiations, disagreements,
* Identify cause of current problems and to anticipate potential pitfalls, to prepare workable solutions and to work on improvement methods
* Ensure timely submission of any market and management reports
* Responsible for team building including supervise, motivate and coach subordinates
* Plan short term business strategy to support long term company goals
* Work to meet and thrive to exceed planned shipments; control expenses and plan
* Implement and maintain operational policies/procedures for handling the company&039;s business
* Manpower efficiently, to meet budget and fulfil Profit/Loss responsibilities
* Direct market research efforts and new product developments to enhance service to clients and to drive business
* Budgeted preparation - forecast business turnover; business initiation for the subsequent year
* Motivate and make recommendations regarding the selection, allocation, transfer, promotion and remuneration of subordinates
* Lead subordinates to meet changing business demands for client satisfaction
* Plan and carry out strategic sourcing and supplier developments, to build resources to support and to grow the business
* Strengthen the merchandising professionalism of the department to ensure a high standard of service to clients
* process, from product development to product delivery
* Ensure smooth running of the whole merchandising, quality assurance and technical support
* Develop and implement new and innovative action plans to achieve new business objectives
* Periodic review and evaluation in department performance
Profile
* Strong knowledge in furniture product manufacturing process and proven skills in market and
* University Degree or higher
* Over 15 years of furniture industry experience, with 10 years at management level
vendor management
* Knowledge in USA and/ or European market is required
* Strong management and leadership skill, possess strategic and analytical thinking and high
level of initiative and integrity
* Effective communication and interpersonal skill to interact with all levels, both external and
internal.
* Willing to travel frequently inside & outside Vietnam
* Fluency in spoken & written English is prerequisite; Vietnamese or Mandarin is an advantage
* Commitment and result driven are definitely a plus
