Head of Business Risk Assurance Management

• Embed operational risk and compliance policies across the country/business as appropriate in line with responsibilities.
• Partner with the country/business to identify, act and monitor risks in line with the I.AM framework and Risk Appetite Statement that are reflective of current state and emerging risks as appropriate.
• At least annually, perform end to end reviews of risks owned/jointly owned and associated controls (incl. risk and control profile, design and operational effectiveness of controls, consider preventative versus detective controls).
• Work with counterparts in a timely manner to record and manage operational risk events/exposures. Prepare insightful root cause analysis (all drivers) that leads to effective remediation (remedial and preventative). Record the event in COR in line with SLA and ensure it follows Reportable Events guidance
• Partner with the country/business to identify, act and monitor risks and the control environment associated with ‘change’ initiatives including projects, product changes, restructure, vendor outsourcing, process changes, digital initiatives (EUDT tools), Regulatory changes and business divestment. Evidence application of the Operations Change Management, EUDT Guidelines and ANZ Delivery Framework (ADF) as appropriate. Ensure risks are identified and appropriate controls are in place (for the project and BAU post-implementation).
• Provide insightful and value-add risk management information for awareness, decision making and action (substance over form). Consider the end to end value chain, customer, quality, risk, compliance, business and financial implications, emerging risks, internal and industry trends and external loss events etc.
• Facilitate and/or participate in country/business Risk Management Forums where material risks/issues are discussed, actions are agreed and subsequently monitored
• Business Continuity – set, monitor and govern business continuity plans which includes regular testing (unless an exception exists) and end of cycle BIA etc.
• Assist the COO in overall management of the COO function’s risk/control related matters and financial performance metrics.

• Extensive knowledge of the principles of Operational Risk Management, Compliance and Auditing
• Strong knowledge of front/back office processes and procedures and related controls
• Proven experience in a banking and finance sector
• Established working background of different risk methodologies
• Good problem identification & resolution skills
• Excellent written and oral communication, planning, problem solving and organizing skills
