Hospitality / Cookery Trainer

• Responsible for the delivery of:
- Other short hospitality, food & beverage / barista programs;
- Training courses for corporate partners as required
- After-School and Excursion programmes.
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and / or Certificate III in Hospitality
• Attend meetings of the Teaching and Learning committee as required.
• Develop innovative recipes and training methodology to improve student learning outcomes.
• Continue to develop Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as industry currency and trainer / assessor competence.
• Demonstrate culinary arts skills and food production techniques as required.
• Use the DIDASKO on-line training programme to support students’ learning.
• Develop and maintain industry relationships for student internships.
• Ensure a high standard of quality customer service is maintained.
• Organize recipes and ingredient lists for procurement for classes.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the principal or his delegate.
• Demonstrate culinary arts / beverage skills and food / beverage production techniques as required.
• Organize, administer and keep attendance records and assessment results of all students according to policies.
• Provide advice / assistance to students in the preparation and service of food for catering events.

Essential Skills
• The ability to work at both the individual level and within a team environment.
• High level written and oral communication skills in English in a wide range of educational, industry or community environments.
• Proven computer literacy, including sound experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs and the ability to use other specialised computer software systems as may be required.
• Strengths in problem solving.
Qualifications and Experience
• Delivery of training within the Australian VET Sector.
• Experience in a multi-cultural environment.
• Bachelor Degree/ Advance Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management [or equivalent],
• Minimum of five years industry/ teaching experience.
• Have an understanding of the Recognition of Prior Learning process.
• Certificate IV in Teaching and Assessment [2016].
• Vocational qualification at the level of the competencies being delivered and/or assessed.
