Hse Director

The primary role is to handle and manage all aspects of the health, safety and environment of the projects to ensure the safety and welfare of employees and others who may be affected by construction operations
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Set a personal example at all times by using the correct PPE and following all HSE requirements and procedures
Assess the existing HSE procedures and provide areas of improvement
Responsible of implementation and standardization of HSE procedures throughout the projects in accordance to Local Authorities and industry norms and requirements,
Ensure adequate distribution and communicating of HSE policies and procedures to all involved in project construction
Report to & assist the Deputy Head of Project Development Department in managing the project as per MH HSE policies and procedures
Liaise with HSE Managers over the full range of their duties and responsibilities, with respect to inspections, audits, report recommendations and changes in local legislations
Ensure that an adequate programme of training for HSE is established and that the safety culture is encouraged amongst Employees and all involved
Provide HSE leadership and operational support to all levels of the business and construction involved companies
Work closely with project teams on special/delicate construction tasks and activities to ensure safely performance
10Assist in all aspects of incident investigation including verifying root cause and approving implementation of preventative actions
Maintain current knowledge of all applicable HSE regulations
Follow up closure of HSE audits findings
Prepare Weekly HSE Reports indicating various HSE matters pertaining to projects for review of BOD
Prepare and supervise HSE audits and ensure strict implementation of HSE policies
Assist and support HSE managers and contractors in regulatory submissions wherever applicable
Ensure Emergency Response Systems, and Procedures are in place to manage emergency situations
Review weekly and monthly HSE Report submitted by HSE managers and project teams.

EDUCATION: Degree holder of industrial, engineering, or equivalent science degree.
HSE KNOWLEDGE
• Good understanding of design and construction phasing and methodologies
• Very good command and understanding of latest HSE policies and procedures
• Well versed in local Authorities requirements
EXPERIENCE
• At least 5 years of which must be with property developer in the capacity of HSE manager.
• 15 to 18 years of continuous working experience of HSE in construction sites
TECHNICAL SKILL
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to develop, motivate and direct teams in large organization
• Successful leadership and hands-on direction of HSE issues in major projects
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
COMPETENCIES
• Self-motivated and be able to work independently
• Previous experience in people’s management as team leader
• Strong personality.
• Resourceful in problem solving and be able to remedy adverse events to mitigate damages. Experience creating and managing HSE policies
• Able to work under stress and taking proper and rational decisions
• A good team player with exceptional inter-personal skills.
• Initiative and be able to identify risks or problems before it actually occurs.
