Main Purpose:
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing the entire importation process and ensuring efficient distribution of products from third- party logistics providers (3PL) to retail stores and online customers. This role includes overseeing the preparation of import documents, managing customs clearance (with agency support), coordinating warehouse stock, optimizing distribution costs, and processing payments for import and logistics expenses. The goal is to ensure smooth product flow while minimizing logistics costs and improving service levels.
Key Accountabilities:
Import & Customs Management
Coordinate with 3PL to prepare necessary import documentation (invoices, packing lists, shipping documents).
Liaise with suppliers and shipping agents to track incoming shipments and resolve any import issues.
Oversee the customs clearance process, ensuring compliance with all regulations and minimizing delays.
Stock Management at 3PL Warehouse
Work closely with the 3PL to ensure that inventory management practices are efficient and meet business requirements.
Ensure accurate stock levels in the 3PL warehouse, monitoring inventory status and coordinating with Merchandise team for stock replenishment.
Conduct regular stock audits and resolve any discrepancies with the 3PL provider.
Distribution to Stores
Monitor distribution performance and adjust strategies to meet store needs while maintaining cost efficiency.
Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules with the 3PL and store managers
Plan and optimize product distribution from the 3PL warehouse to retail stores, ensuring timely delivery with minimal distribution costs.
Online Order Fulfillment
Address any logistics issues related to online order shipments and returns
Track and follow up on the processing and fulfillment of online orders.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers by coordinating with the 3PL provider
Payment and Cost Management
Track and reconcile all logistics costs, including import duties, 3PL service fees, transportation, and delivery expenses.
Prepare and submit payment requests for import- related expenses (customs duties, transportation costs, etc.).
Analyze logistics costs and propose strategies to optimize and reduce expenses.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with merchandise, store, and finance teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
Coordinate with external partners (3PL, customs agents, transportation providers) to resolve any issues in the logistics process.
Provide regular updates on shipment statuses, inventory levels, and delivery performance.
