[Internship] Data Management Intern

Project 1: Operator Motion Comparison with Standard (Phase-II)
•Objective: To optimize current hardware & software (simple app) to compare operator’s micro motions with micro-motions specified in Garment Sewing Data (GSD) to find motion variations in almost real-time to improve learning curve and efficiency.
•Potential Methodology:
oStudy micro-motions data in GSD and video of trainer & operators.
oStudy current algorithm & optimize for almost real-time human motion analysis.
oOptimize prototype for motion capture.
oModify current app showing comparison results with GSD Data as per end user requirement
oPilot solution in production & implement changes for production roll-out.
oTransfer all material including source codes, algorithms etc. to HBI.
•Inputs from HBI:
oVideos of trainer (Standard-GSD)
oMicro-motion data from GSD
oVideos of operators performing same operation as trainer.
oCurrent algorithm, app & hardware configuration.
•Hardware:
oHardware: HBI
oComputer/PC for processing: University
•Software:
oUse of open-source software libraries is preferred, however, University to propose for special software/library if necessary.
Project 2: Computer Aided Garment Measurement
•Objective: To develop system (hardware & software) to capture, measure & record all out-form measurements as per Quality Specifications without using measurement scale in production environment.
•Potential Methodology:
oStudy Quality Specifications.
oSuggest low cost hardware for images capturing & lighting.
oResearch available methods of detecting edges/out-form & defects in low contrast & varying lighting condition.
oDevelop & test various algorithms & create database.
oDevelop simple app showing results with results saved in database.
oPresent results with app & propose necessary hardware for production roll-out.
oTransfer all material including source codes, algorithms etc. to HBI.
