Middle/Senior Java Developer

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer who is excited about building highly secure and scalable digital commerce systems that need to process millions of requests without just throwing tons of hardware at the problem. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic including database schema, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to request from the frontend. You will need to think outside of the box to quickly come up with solutions to problems that are unique to Sendo.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions aligning to our overall architecture;
• Design solutions, write code, test code, automate test and deployment;
• Overall delivery of software components working in collaboration with product and design teams;
• Collaborate with other technology teams to ensure integrated end-to-end design and integration;
• Enforce existing process guidelines; drives new processes, guidelines, team rules, and best practices;
• Mentor and raise the teammates in all possible areas;
• Full participation in the Agile Scrum process including speaking up and giving your opinion;
• Ready, willing, and able to pick up new technologies and pitch in on story tasks (design, code, test, CI/CD, deploy, etc);
• Able to research and learn new methodologies and technologies and bring knowledge

What are we looking for from you?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant areas;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering role using Java;
• Strong understanding algorithms and data structures;
• Strong experience working in OOP, design patterns, and programming skills;
• Strong experience in designing and developing high performance, scalable and available web services;
• Experience with microservices architecture;
• Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues;
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations;
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project;
• A passion to produce clean, maintainable, robust, well-tested code;
• Strong experience with Git, Maven/Gradle;
• Experience with CI/CD system such as Jenkins;
• Experienced in using Spring Framework is a plus;
• Strong experience with RDBMS like MySQL, PostgreSQL. Experience with NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra is a plus;
• Experience with automation testing frameworks such as Selenium is a plus;
