What you’ll achieve
As a Product Operations Principle Engineer, you will be engaging with product design, global manufacturing sites and suppliers to drive strategies and action plans for new product introduction from early design to mass production. You will work with an internal core team, extended team and suppliers focus on PC peripherals development activities.

When Dell Technologies launches new game-changing products into the global market, Product Operations Engineering has a vital role to play. The team coordinates all the operational activities that enable products to be introduced and sustained successfully. It’s about making sure there is consistency between production and test environments. It’s about ensuring hardware, software and networking changes are migrated into the production environment in a stable and controlled way. And it’s about creating build processes, coordinating early development builds for release into production and setting up configuration specifications for releases.
You will:
• Drives action plans and strategies to reduce overall manufacturing transformation cost, improve quality and cycle time performance
• Provides recommendations and risk assessments on new suppliers and new process technology.
• Represents Worldwide Operations from a product perspective, works closely with suppliers, sustaining groups and extended core team to ensure product manufacturability at the supplier.
• Works with the supplier to develop and implement the quality management plan using industry tools and standards to drive quality improvements and initiatives
• Utilizes metrics to improve new production, introduction process and product quality, at launch and throughout life of the program.
• Assists in excursion management through root cause analysis, drives implementation and validation of improvement/corrective actions.

Essential Requirements
• Advanced command skills to assist in the implementation and execution of programs and initiatives
• Provides guidance and assists in the development and implementation of effective structure and programs at supplier/vendor manufacturing facilities to support organizational expectations
• Typically requires 8+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree
• Willingness to travel (Occasionally travel to suppliers’ sites)
• Some detailed understanding of global computer products/peripherals industry Various engineering discipline and development / manufacturing process knowledge
• Strong communication in both written and spoken of English
• Leads and provides coaching for product / process reviews Resolves conflicts and tradeoffs for mitigation of issues and risks Provides key leadership between Suppliers and factories, Drives 5Cs to resolution
• Provides leadership for ensuring that product designs and operational processes are optimized, able to identify, prioritize and influence absolute requirements into product designs Resolves complex issues and coaches others on tradeoffs
• Assists in the development and administration of improvement programs for supplier | vendor while educating them on the execution of quality tools, methodologies and requirements
Desirable Requirements
• Makes supplier recommendations regarding factory operations elements, actively participates on supplier selection and negotiation team Leads operations team to achieve operational improvement initiatives across multiple supplier / Dell Factories / Dell Product Group teams
• Added Advantage: Chinese language (Spoken)
