Project Officer for Responsible Business Conduct in Supply Chains for Igs, Based in Hanoi

The project is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the following position:
*** The Project Officer will be responsible to:
*** Duty station: Hanoi, Viet Nam Duration: ASAP until 30 June 2024 with possibility for extension.
*** Project Officer for Responsible Business Conduct in Supply Chains
• Increase the knowledge and awareness on due diligence and Responsible Business Conduct in the electronics sector in Vietnam
• Lead partnerships with the private sector, Government and other stakeholders to promote social and environmental due diligence (Responsible Business Conduct) and support capacity development relating to this, in particular in the electronics industry
• Develop and implement approaches to improve the sustainability performance of the electronics sector with a special focus on social and environmental compliance and standards, due diligence, and risk assessment in electronics supply chains
In this context, he/ she will fulfill the following tasks:
• Contribute to the knowledge management of the project by collecting and adequately distributing information and relevant communication material about the activities
• Provide technical advisory and management support to improve the sustainability in the electronics supply chain in close coordination with relevant actors (e.g. international and national private sector, associations, NGOs etc.)
• Support global activities in close coordination with the team leader and other country teams of the project
• Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project activities
• Develop concepts, approaches and activities to strengthen social and environmental due diligence in line with the overall project objectives and its indicators in close coordination with the team leader and other team members of the IGS Vietnam
• Coordinate with and provide technical advisory to partners from the private sector, business associations as well as partner organisations from NGOs, academia, service providers to enhance due diligence and sustainability management in Vietnam
• Develop Terms of Reference and manage international and national consultants to ensure highest quality and cooperation.
• Conduct and support data collection, analysis and assessments with regard to sustainability in the electronics supply chain
• Support relevant capacity development formats as well as country-specific and regional events/workshops/roundtables in the field of sustainable supply chains and represents GIZ at local stakeholder events

*** Minimum Requirements:
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills;
• Knowledge of relevant topics and international discussions of sustainability in supply chains, due diligence, social and environmental standards
• Strong networking capability and good communication skills with stakeholders from development sector, NGOs, private sector and government, enabling collaboration to achieve joint objectives
• Understanding of relevant environmental risk profiles, networks, supply chains and capacity development issues in supply chains in Viet nam and globally
• University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Political or Cultural science, Environmental Management, Engineering, Sustainable supply chain management or other relevant disciplines
• Strong project management skills and experience with the initiation, planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring of projects and other project management tasks
• Proven ability to work in a team, also in intercultural contexts
• Pro-active and self-driven individual
• Working experience in the electronics sector and a relevant network would be considered a distinct advantage;
• At least 7 years of professional work experience in related positions of increasing responsibility, preferably with the private sector and/or third-party certifier and/or development cooperation and/or sustainability consulting or ESG management;
• Strong critical, analytical thinking and structured working abilities.
