Regional Purchaser

Report to: Purchasing Director Asia
The jobholder will act as purchasing agent by being involved in sourcing and purchasing raw materials and packaging locally/oversea to supply for production on a timely and cost effective basic while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.
Job Level: Middle Management and Senior Specialist
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sourcing & Purchasing Strategy
• Develop criteria and evaluate the key suppliers by yearly for long-term cooperation.
• Participate the supplier exhibition and build up supplier networks
• Report and budget according to company guidelines
• Take the commercial part in the sourcing decision, and local supplier development.
• Develop and implement the commodity strategy plan
• Propose oversea/ local purchasing strategies for relevant commodities.
• Develop and source new suppliers as per request when needed
Supplier Management
• Visit, evaluate, audit the suppliers with Quality department
• Monitor & evaluate the supply activities, conduct supplier assessment according to guideline to achieve cost effectiveness and good performance
• Update list of suppliers regularly
• Make survey and analyze the oversea/ local market for the relevant commodities
• Manage the performance of the oversea/ local suppliers within the responsible commodities
Regional Support
• Coordinate with other BUs in the region to ensure timely support and supply.
Others
• Others as assigned by Manager
• Improve the purchasing cost of purchased materials, e.g. initiate and drive cost down projects at the suppliers’ and involve the appropriate team; e.g. value analysis, decrease of technical requirements.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
• Ensure all suppliers are selected and approved according to ISO/ HACCP standards.
• Purchasing strategies are aligned with company’s goals
• Identify new sourcing opportunities to ensure that goods can be sourced from various resources with the best price and high quality.
• Ensure always having backup solution of supplier availability for continuous production
• Reduce the purchase costs at minimum prices

Requirements:
• Integrity
• Knowledge in foreign trade, global commercial acts and rules
• Good Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoints
• Having experience in working with suppliers from various nationalities
• Able to work independently under high pressure
• Proficiency in English
• Good communication, negotiation skills
• Strong analytical skill
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration/ Economics/…
• Good planning and problem-solving skills
• 5+ year of experience in Purchasing raw materials, preferred in Feed companies
