Senior Process Engineer ( Australia 's Mechanical Company )

The incumbent is responsible for managing all aspects of product introductions (new or modified) at Rheem to achieve project deliverables e.g. cost, time, safety, quality and environmental objectives.
Specific responsibilities are as follows:
• Manage the following activities through the project teams
• “Poke Yoke” and OEE monitoring to improve plant efficiency and improved product quality
• Establish local Project Teams and conduct project meetings
• Lead the project teams, assign tasks to team members and drive team members to complete assigned tasks
Train personnel in the correct assembly/operating procedures on existing/new equipment.
Ensuring all material, component and product approvals are obtained
To ensure that safe working and handling practices are followed and provide input into ways of improving OH&S of all personnel.
Develop new and existing manufacturing processes
Conduct SHE Risk Assessments on production machinery and processes. Develop and implement hazard control measures.
Provide the necessary documentation for new tooling and equipment, including operating and setting instructions, drawings and maintenance programs
Prepare tooling & equipment specifications and obtain quotations
Maintain the Quality System ISO 9001 and report to management on necessary improvements.
Participate in Design for Manufacture Effects Analysis, DFMEA
Purchase, install and commission new tooling and equipment
Purchasing of raw materials and components
Conduct production trials and pilot runs
Identify, provide feasibility studies and implement design improvements to suit manufacturing processes, or for the introduction of new plant, equipment and tooling.
Provide the necessary plant standard operating procedures and work instructions
Liaise with the Service personnel in relation to field problems, and reviewing the product/process with the aim of eliminating the manufacturing defects/problems.
Participate in Failure Mode Effects Analysis, FMEA
Provide manufacturing metrics, “Bill of Materials” for product manufacture.
Define and document Process Flow Charts, and Factory Layouts
• Liase with all departments associated with the planning, implementation and introduction of new products and/or production techniques.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation
• Manage project expenditure and maintain accurate expenditure records
• Prepare Capital Requisitions
• Maintain an accurate, current operations timeline
• Prepare and issue project team minutes and Action Plans
• Communicate project status and critical actions within the Rheem operation

• Experience in Mechanical from developing and implementing programs with identifiable results using some of the following:
Operators participation in new designs
Integrated customer and internal problem solving teams
“just in time”
New machinery
Optimizing bottlenecks
“lean” manufacturing / PLC system
Press Shop Tooling
value stream analysis
“kaizen” continuous improvement
supply chain management
• Well developed computer skills (specifically Microsoft Office)
• Experience in CAD design an advantage (2D &/ 3D)
• An ability to work and achieve results within a team environment.
• An interest in developing & implementing organization development and culture change programs.
• An ability to manage and complete complex projects.
• Sound people management, team facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills
• An ability to work on multiple projects within tight timeframes.
• Minimum 2 years experience with and understanding of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Energetic and enthusiastic.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong planning, organizing and interpersonal skills.
• Over 05 years experience with a Manufacturing or Engineering Qualification
• Trained and experienced in using statistical measures to reduce process variations within a manufacturing environment.
• A strong commitment to OHS and environmental compliance in the workplace.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering will be considered an advantage.
• Ability to communicate, speak and write English.
• A strong ability to relate to all levels from shop floor to senior management.
