JOB PURPOSE
The Product Manager is responsible for product planning, delivery and marketing throughout the product lifecycle. This includes developing a vision and roadmap for the product based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and their own industry insight.
The Product Manager works closely with BA, designer, engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.
USUAL ACTIVITIES
Create a product vision/strategy/objective/goals/roadmap - Communicate to a cross-functional team, and continually adapt it based on direct engagement with customers and users in the field.
Work with BA to deeply understand the business needs/constraints/opportunities.
Gather qualitative and quantitative data from the market and from end-users.
Collaborate with other departments on product launching.
Working with BA, Product Designer, & Tech team on building a prototype for idea testing / risk-free on usability/feasibility/value/business-viability testing.
Creatively generate solutions to a wide range of problems while assessing competition, being able to say "no" with clear justification.
Run many experiments every month (and use them to make better decisions).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Discovery: Responsible for a validated outcome-based product backlog.
Building the product vision / strategy / objective / goals / outcome-based roadmap & communicate to the team.
Make data-driven decisions when possible but fall back on good intuition when data is not available.
Create a compelling and inspiring vision for its product (also and flawless strategies to reach its goals)
Assess competition by comparing products.
Tackle the various risks (value, usability, feasibility & business viability) with prototypes to determine the necessary product.
Problem solves within constraints that truly exist; else breakthrough constraints that do not actually exist.
Product Delivery: Responsible for a production‐quality technology product
Manage the product throughout its lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.
Planning new features and changes to a product while establishing the related acceptance criteria.
Maintaining & prioritizing the product roadmap items.
Product launching collaboration - time to market (product sales forecasts & analysis), legal-related, marketing, finance, etc.
Define outcome-based roadmap basing on the product strategy & objective compromising with top-line requirements from BUs/MDs/PMOs.
Inspiring and enthusing colleagues and users of the product.
Create/oversee development & project management process.
Product Deliver support (PO/Scrum Master)
Define iteration and stories. Accepts iteration increments.
Vendor Management.
Development project planning & prioritizing while optimizing the value of the dev team&039;s work.
Monitor & track new features, analyze what features need to be improved.
Drive iteration goals and content via prioritized stories.
Establishes story acceptance criteria; accepts the stories into the baseline.
Plan and prioritize development activities based on system, available resources, business goals, and end-user impact.
Responsible for team backlog, implementation & working with Product Manager to commit on the release plan.
