Sourcing Engineer

* Job Description:
The main purpose of the Sourcing Engineer will be to lead efforts in exploring, initiating, developing, and validating opportunities in quality improvements and cost savings and other sourcing related opportunities. The individual in this role will act as the technical interface between suppliers and manufacturing engineers to determine new and alternate sources.
* Main Tasks – will include
• Work with production team to improve manufacturing processes, recommending processes that should be subcontracted.
• Source and recommend new materials, parts and technologies locally and aboard for new product development and continual product improvement in terms of cost saving and quality.
• Involve in solving issues of product and materials.
• Research and build data to keep the company updated on the new applicable technologies.
• Coach subcontractors.
• Work with costing team on improving the product costs.
• Work with R&D to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expect.
• Continuous involvement in the Supplier and Subcontractor Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology.
• Work with purchasing team on handling over sourced information.

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and vacuum components. Practical knowledge of rubber, plastic, metals would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems.
• Possess a good command of English.
• Degree in Electrical Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
• Technical detail-oriented.
• Highly organized self-starter.
• Good interpersonal, project management and presentation skills.
• More than 3 year working experience in sourcing in a mechanical or electrical company.
