Sourcing Manager For Furniture And Upholstery Fabric/Leather

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for category sourcing and procurement in Asia (cover, raw materials and components, lamps and accessories, finished case goods, or finished upholstered furniture) – developing and implementing category / supply chain strategies that reduce total landed costs while exceeding LZB standards for quality and delivery.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops and implements sourcing strategies that satisfy business requirements for design, cost, quality, delivery, and compliance


• Leverages subject matter expertise in assigned category to develop robust strategies


• Identifies, evaluates, and develops new suppliers to meet company production requirements


• Collaborates with business teams in Merchandising, R&D, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to select and qualify suppliers and ensure that strategies support business unit objectives


• Manages supplier identification, selection and negotiation process


• Responsible for commercial relationship with suppliers, including pricing and contract negotiation


• Develops and maintains strategic relationships with suppliers using sourcing best practices


• Works with suppliers to develop strategic plans to secure production capacity and raw materials and to drive production process efficiency


• Leads strategic, cross-functional efforts focused on reducing sourcing costs and improving service; identifies and implements cost savings opportunities through alternative purchasing, sourcing, and / or logistics channels


• Supports new product development:


• Leveraging supplier innovation capabilities


• Sourcing for new programs / meeting launch requirements


• Collaborates with GTC Quality teams to define quality standards and improve suppliers quality programs


• Oversees purchase order tracking and management processes; proactively addresses delivery issues


• Collaborates with GTC and US logistics teams to oversee load consolidation and shipment


• Responsible for supplier performance measurements / scorecards and prioritizing supplier continuous improvement activities


• Develops and manages a strong sourcing team

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of ten (10) years of international sourcing experience in Asia


• BS in Supply Chain, Purchasing or similar discipline


• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing robust sourcing strategies


• Experience in supplier performance improvement


• Strong supplier cost analysis skills, including cost modelling


• Subject matter expertise with the following categories:


• Upholstery fabric and leather


• Lamps, rugs, and home accessories


• Finished upholstered furniture


• Finished case goods furniture


• Furniture components; e.g., electronics, show wood, fabricated metal parts


• Knowledge of best in class sourcing / purchasing / manufacturing principles, including:


• Supplier Assessments


• Supplier Scorecards


• Strategic Business Reviews


• Lean manufacturing


• Six sigma


• Excellent negotiation skills


• Continuous improvement mentality; strong problem-solving skills; ability to effectively manage multiple tasks / projects


• Ability to collaborate across functions, business units, and geographies


• Strong communications skills (written & verbal)


• Fluent in English and Mandarin (Cantonese and Vietnamese a plus)


• Experience with ERP systems and proficient in MS Office suite of products

  TRAVEL REQUIRED: Up to 50%, plus the potential for 1-2 trips to the US per year
