System Engineer & Admin

Ensure the best operational health of a large-scale online platform in Switzerland including managing and monitoring and troubleshooting server performance, development infrastructure, and IT infrastructure for company, teams and individuals. Working in close collaboration with the ITO department in Switzerland.
System Engineer (75%)

Enforce security guidelines in server environments
Design, implementation and maintenance of server systems (Windows-Server, Linux)
Update management for server systems during maintenance-hours
Configuration and maintenance of virtual systems (VMware, Kubernetes)
Tasks from ITO RZ/Sys in Switzerland
Maintenance and monitoring of services in the company’s Datacenter

IT Administration, provisioning and support for users (25%)

Provisioning of peripheral material (incl. Inventorisation where needed)
1st and 2nd level support (problem-solving for user-programs and mobile-issues)
IT-Security (enforce the security guidelines and measurements for users)
User-& Access Management (create, maintain and delete accounts of NVG employees)
Collect user requests and solve them with ITO in Switzerland

Very good english in speaking and writing
At least 3 years of experience in server-/service-maintenance Windows and Linux
Deep knowledge of Network-design / Routing / Switching / Firewalling / Cabling
At least 3 years of experience in incident-handling and problem management
Knowledge and experience in VMWare
Calm, team-oriented, autonomous and reliable personality
Knowledge and experience with open source and devops-tools
Formation as IT-Systems-engineering or server- & Infrastructure-maintenance, especially for high traffic web applications.
Knowledge and experience with container technologies (e.g. Kubernetes)
