1.The Principal has the overall responsibility of providing pupils with a well-rounded and world class education. The Principal has the responsibility to plan and co-ordinate the school programmes and to ensure the effective running of the school within the policy and guidelines of KinderWorld.
2.The Principal demonstrates dedication to the profession by exemplary behaviour and contributes willingly and to the best of his/her ability and professional competence when and where required.
3.The roles and responsibilities of the Principal may be defined as follows: Leadership and Strategic Planning, Management of Staff, Management of Students, Management of Resources.
4.In smaller schools, the Principal will also have a teaching role and must demonstrate quality and skilful teaching practice as a model for other teaching staff. The teaching component will be assigned depending on the school context with a teaching load up to 0.5 subject to student enrolments and school complexity.

Leadership and Strategic Planning
•Sets the focus and direction of the school according to the KinderWorld’s vision and mission.
•Is committed to quality in each task undertaken.
•Creates and promotes a learning environment for staff and students.
•Focuses on student learning and performance.
•Initiates, develops, drives and supports the implementation of school values and the school instructional programme.
•Nurtures student leaders and engages them in transmitting school values to the rest of the school community.
•Develops, monitors and reviews strategic plans and processes that best employ the expertise, talents and resources in his school, with a view to reducing wastage of resources and student attrition.
•Considers the practices, developments and changes as well as expectations of the external environment in leading the school and is prompt to respond to them accordingly.
•Identifies and works towards fulfilling the long and short term goals of the school and KinderWorld.
•Promotes and sustains the efficiency and effectiveness of the school by examining school wastage, use of resources and time, safety of the school, quality of service provided and received and feedback.
Management of Staff
Apart from managing the professional development of staff, the Principal is expected to motivate and inspire staff to adopt quality teaching practices and create an excellent school while catering for the well-being of the staff. In managing staff, the Principal:
•Identifies, develops and optimizes the potential staff.
•Identifies and addresses training needs of staff which are aligned with the goals of KinderWorld.
•Engages and empowers staff in school improvement.
•Reviews and evaluates effectiveness of teaching.
•Establishes communication and interaction links between management and staff.
•Assesses, identifies and promotes staff welfare needs.
•Creates an environment that builds and supports the morale of the staff.
Management of Students
The Principal designs, implements, manages and improves the key processes to provide a holistic education for the students by:
•Considering student well-being, needs and expectations.
•Ensuring sound structure in teaching and learning.
•Implementing assessment modes and use of information for improving student performance.
•Designing and implementation of effective education and support processes, programmes and services.
•Maximising leadership potential and development of students.
•Evaluates the extent to which the school is providing holistic education for students in terms of their cognitive, physical, aesthetic, social, moral leadership, and morale.
Management of Resources
The Principal manages resources effectively and efficiently in order to support its strategic planning and the operation of its processes. She/he maintains the physical facilities of the school to provide an environment conducive for learning and work. In managing the school’s resources, the Principal:
•Provides and ensures the optimal use of teaching and learning resources, including materials, equipment and technology to support school programmes so that they contribute to the overall school programme.
•Uses and monitors funds optimally.
•Supports the Office Manager in the effective management of school budgets and financial monitoring processes.
•Supports the Office Manager in the implementation and maintenance of systems for the management of stock and equipment.
•Supports the Office Manager in implementing and monitoring systems for the security of facilities and resources.
•Establishes good relations with the school’s suppliers to ensure the quality of goods and services that the supplier provides meet its requirements.
•Establishes productive partnerships with parents and external organizations.
•Supports the Office Manager in implementing effective administrative support structures and systems
•Ensures the safety of pupils and staff
OTHER TASKS
In addition, the Principal is responsible for the following specific tasks:
•Completion of a fortnightly report to Management.
•Preparation of a Monthly Newsletter.
•Providing information and guidance to parents and students about the curriculum and study pathway.
•Planning and organising the Annual Concert and Graduation event in accordance with company guidelines and policy.
•Assisting with the promotion and marketing of KinderWorld schools through special events and liaison with parents and community.
