Voice Engineer

Experienced in programming languages bash, python, lua, PHP.
Have experienced in web server like apache, nginx, database (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Have knowledge of least 1 PBX system: Asterisk, Freeswitch.
Have knowledge of networking and basic protocols.
Have experience in troubleshooting, configuring, and optimizing VoIP server systems, load-balance, and HA for the system..

Troubleshoot VoIP client and VoIP network issues including phones, softphones, Jabber, SIP, H.323, ISDN, QoS, TCP/IP, fax over IP, and network/call routing.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Troubleshoot and diagnose phone-related issues with internal staff and external vendors.
Participate in voice and communications services disaster recovery planning and testing.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Keep current regarding network and voice technology. Recommend ways of improvement.
Participate in the budget process with regard to requirements for equipment upgrades, software upgrades, and hardware/software maintenance.
Ensure VolP documentation is created and stays relevant, including procedures for all aspects of the voice network.
Develop plans and coordinate with internal and external partners for all voice and related data services.
Define, deploy, and the support the County’s IP telephone communications systems, including software systems, network architecture and hardware components. Assume operational control of the Cisco platform including but not limited to Unity, Flex, Call Manager, voice gateways, voicemail, auto attendant and collaboration systems.
Work with the Service Desk team to evaluate and resolve phone-related tickets. Post and track outages to communications systems.
Document and assess customer requirements for voice technology solutions: recommend and implement.
