Waste Treatment Engineer

- Ensuring environmental compliance
- Prepare budgets, control department expenditures and avoid cost overruns.
- Ensuring that wastewater analyses are done properly and on time.
- Arranging for the disposal of all chemical wastes, solid or liquid.
- Troubleshoot process problems and determine solutions
- Identifying out of control situations and acting decisively to protect the company.
- Suggest system or process modifications as necessary
- Prepare environment reports as needed, either for company or government use
- Maintaining chemical stock levels (waste treatment chemicals)
- Supervising the work of technicians in his department
- Managing and maintaining the waste treatment system.
- Maintain accurate and on time process data
- Managing and maintaining water filtration systems

- Competent in the use of chemical handling equipment
- Comfortable doing laboratory analysis
- Competent in use of computer software such as Microsoft Office, proprietary laboratory software
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Be extremely safety conscious, ensure he and his subordinates always wear appropriate PPE
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is essential.
- Must be knowledgeable of current environmental and waste management regulations
