The Application Deployment Engineer is responsible for the practical execution of software deployment, focusing on preparing and validating applications for successful deployment. This role performs the detailed tasks encompassing application packaging, installation, and environment- specific configuration. This position requires strong collaboration with various global departments to ensure strict cybersecurity controls and global IT processes are upheld. Also required is a strong technical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensuring application readiness for seamless deployment across diverse environments.
Responsibilities
Optimize application delivery processes to enhance efficiency and user experience.
Contribute to Global IT’s strategy for implementing and maintaining approved software catalogues
Reinforce Cybersecurity policies with end users in day- to- day engagements with same.
Assist with the development and implementation of new application solutions as required.
Deploy software applications and updates to various environments (development, testing, staging, production) following established procedures and using deployment automation tools.
Assist in maintaining and configuring deployment environments, ensuring consistency and stability.
Monitor application performance and system health post- deployment, identifying and resolving deployment- related issues promptly.
Document and implement application processes, development, and testing.
Collaborate with various departments to address application- related issues and improve user experience.
Contribute to the development and improvement of automated deployment scripts and pipelines.
Perform software installations, updates, and maintenance to ensure applications are up- to- date and functioning properly.
Qualifications
Familiarity with operating systems (Windows and/or Linux), MS Active Directory, and basic networking fundamentals.
Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python).
Exceptional organisational skills and time management skills.
1+ years- Experience in application support, installation, and troubleshooting.
1+ years- knowledge of Citrix or other application delivery systems (Azure Virtual Desktop, TSplus, Parallels- Awingu...)
1+ years – Experience with virtualization technologies (such as VMWare) is an advantage
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
1+ years- Experience with software updates, application packaging, and managing deployments.
1+ years- Intune and Azure (EntraID) experience
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
ITIL4 Foundation Certification desired.
Able to use Microsoft Office Applications at a high level.
