Automation Control Vision Engineer

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Develop new programs for motion controllers, robots, HMIs, PLCs, and other controls hardware.
- Support and maintain image processing hardware and programs using Windows- based PC systems.
- Program motion controllers, PLCs, operator interfaces, robotics, and servo drives
Startup, debug, and qualify automated machines.
- support controls install/upgrade on new and existing automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot, provide root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for reported issues on local production systems and tools.
- Support production by troubleshooting and repairing automated controls.
Work with operations and process engineering groups to design scalable control systems.
Reprogram existing automated machines for improvements and optimization.
- Make program and hardware modifications/updates on automated control systems
Research and specify electrical and pneumatic control components.
Work closely with control hardware design group to develop electrical schematics for machines.
- Field wire panels and equipment and make updates to electrical schematics as needed

Required Experience:

2- 5 years of experience programming automated machines and control systems.

- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Image processing systems and implementations

- AutoCAD or equivalent experience.

- Experience in building/servicing control panels.

Ability to implement and debug various commonly used industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus, IO- Link, OPC- UA, etc.).

PLC programming experience. (Automation Direct preferred).

Operational knowledge of control relays, pneumatic solenoids, pneumatic controls, motion controllers, servomotors, stepper motors, etc.

Operator Interface programming experience. (Red Lion preferred).

Familiarity accessing databases using SQL Server Management Studio, Linqpad, or similar utility. Experience with database architecture and design a plus.

Motion Controller programming experience. (Trio Motion Controller preferred)

Ability to read and write other common programming languages (Basic, C++, C, Java, Python, etc...).

Industrial Robotics programming experience.

Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs

Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
