Category Buyer

Role description

Identify and evaluate cost saving opportunities, reliable supplier base and quality vendors
Master Data management for Traded goods database
Ensure cost competitive supply for the unit by running tenders and benchmark exercises in the supply market.
Analyze sales trend for category and product
Establish yearly sourcing pipeline
Work closely with NA Product Management team for maximizing top line and minimizing inventory
Understand unit business requirements and ensure timely inclusion to Group category plans..

Reporting lines

Solid line to Category Manager in region, NA Traded Goods

Main forums, contacts and stakeholders

North America Commercial and Procurement team, vendors, logistics partners, and traded goods procurement team in region.

Qualification and experience

Tertiary educated or above in any discipline
Good command of spoken & written English, spoken & written Mandarin
Previous exposure in packaging industry will be advantageous
Good PC proficiency, advanced MS Excel skills with ability to build and maintain complex calculators
At least 3+ year experience in the products Purchasing
Business travel is needed
Good product sense & well- organized
