Design Verification Engineer (OS Image, Firmware And Driver Testing)

The Surface Team is seeking qualified candidates for a Design Verification Engineer with experience in OS image verification, firmware and driver testing. You will be responsible for the design verification and qualification of Windows OS images, firmware and drivers for different subsystems as well as the development of tools and infrastructure to automate that testing. The position involves working closely with electrical engineers, industrial designers, hardware engineers, software engineers, design verification engineers, component engineers, program managers, across product development, compliance/safety, and reliability organizations. The main test methodology used will be black box and grey box testing. Other responsibilities may include updating test plan documentation, creating test cases, executing test cases, debugging test automation and test case failures. Contribute to the development of processes and methodology. Be very proactive and assist in the development of assignments and schedules.
Key responsibilities include:

Develop and maintain automation tools and test infrastructure.
Take initiative in task planning and scheduling.
Design and execute test plans for OS images, firmware, and drivers.
Collaborate closely with cross- functional teams including electrical engineers, hardware engineers, software engineers, industrial designers, component engineers, and program managers.
Apply black box and grey box testing methodologies.
Create and maintain test documentation, develop and execute test cases, debug automation scripts and test failures.
Contribute to process and methodology improvements.

Relevant technical skills.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or related technical field, Master&039;s degree may substitute for a portion of the related experience, or equivalent work experience/training.
Have exposure to Designing/Testing software applications.
2+ years’ work- related experience.
Good English communication skill both oral and written required.
Strong communication skills.
Good understanding on Windows operation system architecture.
