We&039;re looking for a skilled freelance Frontend Engineer to design and build polished, high- performance web interfaces and web applications. You&039;ll work closely with our team to translate product requirements into clean, accessible, and visually compelling user experiences. This is a contract engagement with potential for ongoing collaboration on multiple projects.
What You&039;ll Do

Iterate quickly based on feedback, using AI tools to accelerate delivery without compromising quality
Develop reusable UI components and maintain a consistent design system
Build responsive, performant web and web app interfaces from design specs or wireframes
Collaborate asynchronously with designers, backend engineers, and product stakeholders
Optimize applications for speed, accessibility, and cross- browser compatibility
Integrate REST APIs and third- party services into frontend workflows

Requirements
Experience & Portfolio

Minimum 2 years of professional frontend development experience
Demonstrated ability to take a project from concept to production
A portfolio of live, deployed products — links required with your application

Technical Skills

Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), React.js, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Solid understanding of responsive design, CSS layout systems (Flexbox, Grid), and cross- browser compatibility
Familiarity with version control (Git) and modern development workflows

Design Sensibility

Familiarity with Material Design guidelines and component patterns
Working knowledge of core visual design principles: hierarchy, spacing, typography, color theory, and contrast
Ability to implement designs with pixel- level attention to detail while maintaining flexibility for real- world constraints

AI- Integrated Workflow

Can articulate how AI tools fit into your workflow — where they accelerate work and where human judgment takes over
Actively uses AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) as part of day- to- day development

Nice to Have

Exposure to design tools (Figma, Adobe XD) and the ability to inspect and export assets
Experience with component libraries (MUI, Chakra UI, shadcn/ui, etc.)
Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs
Basic understanding of web performance optimization and Core Web Vitals
Familiarity with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, or similar)
Experience working with Japanese and/or European clients
