JOB DESCRIPTION:
Industrial & Product Design:
Own the end- to- end physical design of Vivi: form factor, proportions, surface treatment, color palette, and material selection for the baby three character
Develop and maintain a design language system that extends to packaging, charging dock, and accessories
Create detailed 3D CAD models (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent) suitable for tooling and manufacturing
Design the modular accessory system: magnetic snap- on outfits, hats, charms, and seasonal collections
Design the expressive face/eye area around the dual LED displays to maximize emotional connection
Mechanical & Sensor Integration:
Ensure the product meets drop- test, safety, and durability requirements for teen users
Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate components: LED displays, capacitive touch sensors, thermometer, vibration motor, speaker, microphones, WiFi/Bluetooth antenna, and battery
Engineer the silicone soft- touch shell with appropriate durometer for pleasant tactile feedback
Design internal structural layout for optimal thermal management, acoustic performance, and antenna placement
Prototyping & User Testing:
Conduct user testing sessions with Vietnamese teen girls to validate form factor, tactile experience, and emotional response
Build rapid prototypes using 3D printing, silicone casting, and soft model techniques for concept validation
Iterate based on feedback, we expect multiple design cycles before production commitment
Manufacturing & Production:
Prepare production- ready design files: detailed drawings, tolerance specifications, surface finish callouts, and assembly instructions
Manage BOM cost targets while maintaining premium look and feel
Oversee quality standards across initial production batches and establish QC criteria
Work directly with manufacturing partners (Shenzhen and/or domestic Vietnamese factories) on tooling, DFM reviews, and pilot production runs
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must Have:
Experience collaborating with electronics/firmware engineers on sensor and component integration
Strong visual communication skills: sketching, concept rendering, and presentation
2+ years of experience in hardware/industrial product design, with at least 2 products shipped to mass production
Ability to manage relationships with contract manufacturers, ideally with Shenzhen factory experience
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or equivalent) and rendering tools (KeyShot, Blender, or similar)
Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes: injection molding, overmolding, silicone casting, surface finishing, and painting
Strong portfolio demonstrating consumer electronics or smart device design (robots, IoT, wearables, toys, or similar)
Hands- on prototyping experience: 3D printing (FDM/SLA), silicone molding, soft- touch material work
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of antenna design considerations for WiFi/Bluetooth in compact enclosures
Experience designing products for children or teens- understanding of child safety standards (EN 71, ASTM F963, or equivalent)
Passion for robotics, AI, or companion technology
Experience with acoustic design (speaker chamber tuning, microphone placement)
Familiarity with Vietnamese market aesthetics and consumer preferences
Background in character design, toy design, or products with emotional/expressive design elements

A flexitime allowance of 90- 180 minutes per month for employees
