Lead Automation Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA applications.
Lead the execution of automation software projects within industrial control systems.
Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure project delivery meets customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Monitor project progress, resource allocation, and provide regular status updates.
Develop software functions from scratch while ensuring coding standards and best practices.
Own key engineering deliverables, including:
Software Requirement Specifications (SRS)
Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
System Test Procedures
Software Design Documents
Prepare and review:
Interface Specifications
Project Requirements & Design Specifications
Test Requirements
Software Product Requirements
Perform software testing and validation in accordance with engineering standards and Codes of Practice.
Drive continuous improvement in software development processes and engineering quality.
Review engineering solutions to ensure standardization, scalability, and efficient resource utilization across projects.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor&039;s Degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Experience with TwinCAT Soft PLC and Ignition SCADA is highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation engineering.
Strong hands- on experience with PLC and HMI/SCADA development.
Solid knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as:
Modbus TCP
CAN
Ethernet UDP
OPC UA
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), software engineering best practices, and quality assurance processes.
Experience in delivering automation or industrial software projects.
Willingness to travel domestically or internationally when required.
Strong collaboration skills with cross- functional and international teams.
Understanding of Object- Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and software design methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem- solving, communication, and documentation skills.
