Job Description
The Communications Intern will work closely with the Communications Officer to support the Energy Sector team—particularly the SHIFT project team—in enhancing project visibility, stakeholder engagement, and outreach effectiveness. In addition, the intern will provide communications support for SNV Vietnam&039;s broader organisation initiatives, contributing approximately 20% of their time to activities such as content creation for internal and external channels, event communications, and general branding support.
By creating high- quality content, maintaining consistent branding, and leveraging communication channels, the intern will help amplify project impacts, support organisational visibility, and promote sustainable energy practices in Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities
Content creation & visuals
Support visual design (infographics, presentation slides, simple layouts) and help manage the media library.
Assist in drafting communication content for SHIFT and SNV Vietnam (e.g., social media posts, articles, blogs, visual assets).
Event & campaign support
Assist in preparing communication materials for events, including banners, flyers, and handouts.
Provide on- site or remote communication support during selected events and activities.
Digital & social media
Help schedule, publish, and monitor content on SHIFT project and SNV Vietnam social media channels.
Support basic website updates and simple reporting on digital engagement.
Stakeholder communication
Support the drafting of newsletters, partner updates, and other stakeholder materials.
Assist in maintaining up- to- date contact lists and communication logs.
Coordination & admin tasks
Provide general support for team logistics, file organisation, and other tasks as needed.
Assist in liaising with designers, printers, and service providers for communication outputs.
Qualifications
Education: Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or related fields.
Skills:
Proficiency in using design and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
Familiarity with social media management tools.
Strong writing and editing skills in both English and Vietnamese.
Others: Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Passion for sustainable development, climate, and energy is a plus.
Experience: Prior experience in communication roles (e.g., internships, freelance, or volunteer work) is preferred but not required.

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: 6 months full- time, from March 2026 – September 2026
Reports to: Communications Officer
Travel: Travel within Vietnam is expected
Duty Station: Hanoi, Vietnam
