Merchandising Specialist

Job Summary
The Merchandising Specialist supports the Merchandising Manager in executing category strategies to achieve sales, margin, and profitability targets. The role manages product assortments, vendor relations, pricing, promotions, and inventory performance in alignment with corporate strategy and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Responsibilities

Primary focus on Beauty – Cosmetics and Fragrances.
Responsible for assigned merchandising categories.
Scope may expand to other categories based on business needs, including Liquor, Tobacco, Wine; Local Destinations – Food/Candy, Souvenirs, and Ready- to- Wear; Boutiques; Fashion (brand specific)

Merchandising & Category Management

Manage assigned category/department product assortments using market trend analysis, while monitoring sales performance, margins, and product mix.
Act as a business partner to the Store Operations team and other departments to drive overall category/department profitability.
Develop and grow private label and exclusive product strategies to maximize profit margins and return on investment (ROI).
Ensure proper execution of Beauty and luxury brand merchandising strategies, working closely with the Korea corporate team to ensure alignment and effective implementation.

Planning, Inventory & Financial Management

Product mix management.
Gross margin and gross margin dollar planning, including seasonal clearance and exit strategies for underperforming brands.
Category- specific sales planning and forecasting, including Open- to- Buy (OTB).
Category inventory management.

Promotion, Vendor & Supply Chain Management

Promotional planning.
Supply chain coordination.
Vendor relations and contract negotiation support.

Cross- functional Collaboration & Compliance

Adherence to Vietnam Customs rules and regulations.
Cross- functional coordination with Store and Support teams (HR, Logistics, Marketing, Finance).
Compliance with company policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Other Duties & Accountabilities

Prepare and analyze merchandising and sales reports.
Maintain SKU and product data accuracy.
Support special projects and other assigned duties.

Education

Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree may be considered with at least 3 years of directly related merchandising or buying experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Work Experience

3–5 years of merchandising experience, including direct buying experience.

Equipment / Tools

Proficient in using computers, standard office equipment, and SKU/database management systems.

Critical Skills

Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
