Planning & Procurement Manager

This role leads procurement planning and purchasing activities, from translating production demand into purchase plans to executing sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management—ensuring the right materials, tools, and equipment are available at the right time, quantity, cost, and risk level in a high- value manufacturing environment.

A CareerViet client is a leading jewelry manufacturing company in Vietnam (Thu Duc, HCM), specializing in precious metal jewelry. As part of its strategic transformation toward becoming a premium jewelry brand in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, the company is seeking a Planning & Procurement Manager to strengthen and lead its planning and procurement capabilities.
Procurement Planning

Monitor procurement plan execution, analyze variances (lead time, quantity, cost, asset availability), and proactively adjust purchasing actions to prevent shortages, production disruptions, or excess inventory
Coordinate closely with Manufacturing Planning, Engineering/Technical, Warehouse, Logistics, and Finance to align demand, inventory levels, asset utilization, and budget control
Ensure accuracy, transparency, and traceability of procurement planning data within ERP/SCM systems, covering materials, tools, and fixed assets
Develop and manage procurement planning for raw materials, tools, consumables, and machinery & equipment based on approved production plans and requirements from Manufacturing and Technical teams
Translate production and operational requirements into purchase plans, ensuring timely availability, particularly for high- value or critical items

Procurement Execution

Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials and components, particularly high- value items
Lead supplier negotiations and contract management while ensuring strong internal controls and risk mitigation
Source, evaluate, select, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance
Monitor supplier performance and proactively manage delivery risks or disruptions

Management & Control

Establish, review, and continuously improve procurement planning processes, policies, and internal controls
Lead, coach, and develop the Planning & Procurement team
Support inventory audits, compliance reviews, and cross- functional coordination initiatives

8–12+ years of experience in planning and procurement, including at least 3–5 years in a managerial role
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related fields
Strong preference for experience in:
High- value, high- risk manufacturing environments (electronics, pharmaceuticals, etc.)
Jewelry, precious metals, luxury goods, or
Solid knowledge of inventory management, MRP, supplier negotiation, internal controls, and ERP/SCM systems
Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and ability to perform effectively under pressure
