* Definition of the job: Responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing plastic components (bobbin, housing, spacer, coil former, etc.) used in inductors, coils, and transformers, ensuring compliance with electrical, mechanical, and thermal requirements as well as manufacturability.

* Position responsibilities:
- Coordinate closely with Electrical Engineers to ensure designs meet: Creepage and clearance requirements. Thermal performance and UL compliance. Mechanical strength and assembly requirements. Winding, soldering, and handling constraints.
- Support QA/Production in troubleshooting molding defects such as warp, short shot, flash, burn marks, etc.
- Perform basic simulations if necessary (flow simulation, warpage analysis) and Conduct tolerance analysis and stack- up evaluation.
- Research & update knowledge about material technology to work with sourcing/purchasing and suppliers for optimized materials selection.
- Design 3D/2D plastic components such as bobbins, frames, covers, bases, coil formers, etc.
- Analyze the DFM/DFS/DFMEA principles in plastic part design.
- Perform other tasks appointed by Manager.
- Select appropriate engineering plastics (PA66, PBT, PPS, LCP, PC, PPA…) based on: Working temperature. Dimensional stability. Mechanical properties. Moldability. Safety standards (UL94, CTI).
- Work with mold suppliers to confirm: Gate location, parting line, ejector pin layout. Shrinkage and warpage control. Mold durability and tolerances.
- Coordinate with Project managers, Engineering, Sourcing, Quality engineers, Sales, and global R&D in Spain, France, India, Korea and China where needed to facilitate projects&039; progress.
- Conduct research and development activities for an organization. Apply research theories, principles, and models when conducting DOE and research activities.
- Prepare BOM, specifications, and detailed technical drawings and Manage drawing revisions and documentation control.
