R&D Packaging

Job purpose:

Support QAQC and production in solving packaging material problem and support Innovation/Production deliver automation packing machine.
Brainstorming and implement cost optimization ideas.
Develop the new packaging and to improve existing packaging (make mock- up, conduct trials, issue technical drawing, write specification, create packaging code in SAP, issue BOM, conduct transportation test, providing feedbacks to MKT/Sales/Purchasing/Production/QAQC team and suppliers).

Roles & Responsibilities:

Others as assigned.
Develop new packaging materials according to the new product brief for local & export product.
Co- ordinate with other departments for packaging related issues such as new product development to ensure that the quality and timeline of packaging is suitable for the new products.
Test and qualify new packaging suppliers as well as alternative materials from cost, storage, and handling, utilization and transportation. Feedback test results to requester or initiators.
Issue packaging specification and BOM
Conduct the packaging trial in the production line to ensure its quality, operation performance and compatibility with the production line.
Conduct the transportation test to ensure the packing alignment/packing configuration and the strength of packaging material along the whole chain, if needed.
Evaluate adequate and suitable materials to improve performance, quality, cost and environmental saving.
Support QA and Production in solving Packaging material problem.
Ensure shelf life test for packaging development is followed as procedure.

Educational Background: Bachelor&039;s degree in Material Technology, Polymer Technology, or a related field.
Expertise & Experience

Experience in packaging development for the food industry is a strong plus.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Packaging Technology or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Flexible packaging, Paper & Printing Tech, and basic production machinery.
Skilled in AutoCAD or similar drawing software.
Intermediate English skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
