The Role
As a Mid/Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll design, build, and deliver the features that make employment easier for millions. From our AI- powered hiring tools to our automated payroll engine, every product you touch will directly improve how businesses hire, pay, and empower their teams.
In this role, you will:

Write clean, well- tested, maintainable code- our core stack is Ruby, and we’ll support you to master it.
Mentor and support junior engineers, helping them grow in both skill and confidence.
Continuously raise the bar for quality, scalability, and innovation.
Collaborate with global product managers, designers, and engineers to turn ideas into elegant solutions.
Build and deliver impactful, high- quality features end- to- end.
Conduct reviews, improve performance, and uphold engineering best practices.

We’re looking for an engineer who has:

A collaborative mindset- you lift others up, share ideas freely, and celebrate collective success.
A track record of delivering high- quality, maintainable web applications end to end.
Proven expertise in server- side development and RESTful API design and integration.
Strong understanding of engineering best practices, automated testing, and Agile delivery.
A natural drive to leverage AI tools to boost productivity, improve code quality, and unlock smarter solutions- you see AI as a partner that helps you move faster, think deeper, and build better.
Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken.
5+ years of experience building scalable backend or full- stack systems.
A curious, growth- oriented attitude- you’re constantly learning, experimenting, and improving.
Proficiency in at least one language such as Ruby, NodeJS, Golang, Python, or Java (we’ll help you master Ruby once you’re here).
