Reservation Agent (6 months)

Efficient and knowledgeable coordination of all tasks and duties in the Reservations department in order to ensure error- free and productive work sequences and guest satisfaction as per Melia Standards.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
To handle all reservations by telephone, fax, e- mail.
To handle group reservations.
To update reservations in the PMS received via the interface.
To adhere to all reservation standards.
To understand and be able to answer all questions about rates, room categories and seasonality.
To sell rates according to availability and yield strategy.
To maintain and develop guest contact.
Handling all reservation documents and correspondence correctly and conscientiously.
Applying company credit policy.
To pass on sales leads to Sales managers.
Pro- actively try to cross- sell (F&B, Spa, etc.) and up- sell room types.
Efficient and complete communication with all other departments, especially front desk, accounting and sales.
Complete knowledge of the property management system.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet and e- mails.
To participate in team or department meetings.
To cooperate with and assist team members.
Participating in all trainings as required.
To be able to clearly communicate information to guests or colleagues.
To have complete knowledge of the following:
• The company
• The Hotel and all outlets
• Special events in the area
• The area
• Sister properties
To understand and strictly adhere to the Hotel’s Employee rules & regulations.
To report for duty punctually, wear the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
To perform any other duties as assigned to him/her by management.
To perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
To ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
To Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety.

Selling skills
Knowledge of current market trends
English- Good level, written & spoken
At least 2 years in international hotels in the same position.
Microsoft Office
Any other language will be an advantage.
College Degree or above
Micros/Fidelio or Opera PMS
Vietnamese- Excellent level, written & spoken
