Curriculum Research & Development
- Participate in professional development and training programs to enhance subject knowledge and instructional capacity.
- Develop teaching aids and instructional materials according to assignments and guidance from the Head of SEL.
- Regularly review, update, adapt, and develop the curriculum to ensure alignment with practical implementation and students’ needs.
- Exchange teaching experiences and share psychological knowledge with members of the SEL teaching team.
- Contribute professional input and feedback to curriculum development discussions with the Head of Life Skills and the SEL curriculum coordination team.
- Conduct research on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) frameworks and materials, including CASEL competencies, UNESCO’s four pillars of education, 21st- century skills, life skills, self- care skills, and other relevant frameworks from both local and international organizations, as assigned by the Head of Life Skills and the Curriculum R&D Coordinator.
Teaching
- Select suitable teaching methods, instructional strategies, classroom activities, and related teaching tools.
- Teach SEL classes as assigned by the SEL Coordinator.
- Assess, evaluate, and classify students’ learning outcomes according to the academic year schedule.
- Anticipate potential classroom situations and prepare appropriate response strategies.
- Model and practice SEL skills taught to students, including active listening, respect, patience, appreciation, gratitude, apology, and sharing emotions, thoughts, and needs.
- Create practice opportunities and encourage students to apply SEL skills through modeling, guided practice, feedback, and individualized support.
- Research and propose procurement of teaching materials and supplies to the SEL Coordinator
- Define lesson objectives, including knowledge outcomes and skill development targets.
- Develop teaching plans in accordance with guidance and requirements from the SEL Coordinator.
- Participate in classroom observations and professional sharing sessions with other SEL teachers.
- Review and reinforce learning content; conduct knowledge checks and assessments.
- Deliver classroom activities according to lesson plans while flexibly responding to unexpected situations.
- Manage classroom environments by fostering a friendly, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere; supporting students facing difficulties; and handling classroom situations with flexibility and professionalism.
- Design lesson plans aligned with defined learning objectives.
- Develop teaching aids and presentation materials (e.g., PPTs) for lessons.
- Select appropriate reference materials to support lesson preparation.
- Apply student- centered teaching approaches, adapting instruction to the abilities and characteristics of individual students and specific class contexts.
- Identify required teaching materials and resources for lessons.
Student Management & Cross- Department Collaboration
- Collaborate with the School Counseling Department, psychological counseling services, career guidance staff, homeroom teachers, and discipline staff in supporting students’ social- emotional development and behavioral adjustment.
- Share knowledge and experience in developmental psychology with homeroom teachers and discipline staff when needed.
- Participate in school- wide and community activities organized by the school.
