Supplier Quality Manager (Motor)

Position Summary
The Supplier Quality Manager will lead the SQE engineers to work with supplier partners to improve the supplier quality performance of the supplied parts, drive the use of proper corrective action methodology and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition, driving continuous improvement of the quality systems of the supply base using the necessary quality and problems solving tools to ensure sufficient supplier capability. The candidate will drive the use of proper corrective action methodology for non- conforming suppliers and supplied components and develop process to prevent reoccurrence and ensure compliance to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership on- site at supplier locations to drive team efforts and activities.
Prepare the weekly and monthly quality performance reports to his supervisor.
Verify report from suppliers (8D,inspection report, test report, etc.); review supplier&039;s documents (process, WI, quality plan, records, etc).
Assist Purchasing and customer service to expedite product from suppliers in urgent situations.
Hold meeting with supplier weekly or monthly to discuss any product quality issue / customer complaint, drive corrective action and follow up.
Support sourcing team to audit & qualify potential suppliers.
Follow up material quality issues found by IQC,MQA…in mass production and from customer complaint. Follow up with suppliers on 8D SCAR closure and effectiveness to prevent problem recurrence.
Lead a team of SQE engineers to manage the incoming quality of motor components under management’s direction & instruction
Review engineering specifications and drawings to determine supplier’s abilities to meet parameters and reviews new and modified product designs from a material & application standpoint advising modifications when necessary.
Support NPD/NPI..(New Product Development) projects by focusing on new components’ quality part consistency and fulfill product application
Work with Engineering to drive technical document changes when needed.
Ensures suppliers meet TTI quality standards. Develop supplier to meet these quality requirements as needed.
Identify and prioritize suppliers who are lacking in performance and develop plan to visit/audit those suppliers for improvements.

Minimum 8 years of working experience in Motor industry. Familiarity with motor manufacturing production and quality control.
Able to work independently and pro- actively.
Strong skills in problem analysis and solving.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Prefer to have reliability test experience; familiar with design for related reliability test items, conditions, failure analysis and report test status, etc.
University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering disciplines.
Knowledge about the AC, DC and BLDC motor design principles and manufacturing processes
Intermediate English reading, writing and speaking skills.
PC skills required (MS Office, Outlook, etc.).Experience with ERP system (e.g. SAP, Oracle) will be an advantage.
Minimum 2 years of experience on a position of Supplier Quality or Quality Engineer. Familiar with Six Sigma, ISO 9001, Quality methods and tools such as FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, DOE, 8D, AQL Sampling etc
