PECC2 - A Vietnamese trademark on electric power projects The engineering group of the then Ministry of Energy deployed in 1981 for the Tri An project in the South of Vietnam, the first since reunification of the country, became the Power Investigation and Design Company 2 (PIDC2) – an agency under the Ministry of Electricity - in July 1985. The Company was renamed Power Engineering Consulting Company 2 (PECC2) on 11 January 1999 and then transformed into Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2) on 01 November 2007, in which Vietnam Electricity is the major shareholder. The company stock has been officially listing under the symbol of TV2 at Ha Noi Stock Exchange since 13 October 2009. PECC2’s main business is investigation, design, supervision and construction management of electric power projects as well as other industrial and civil utilities; manufacture of steel towers and structures for power and telecommunication projects; project construction investment. The development of the Company has close relations with tens of power source projects and hundred of network ones which are under operation, construction or under preparation for construction. Typical projects include among others the Tri An, Ham Thuan – Da Mi, Dai Ninh, A Vuong, Buon Kuop, Srepok 3 hydropower projects; Phu My Power Complex, O Mon, Ca Mau, Nhon Trach, Vinh Tan, Duyen Hai, Son My and Kien Luong thermal power projects; 500kV Phu My – Nha Be – Phu Lam, 500kV North – South, 500kV Son La – Hiep Hoa, 500kV Da Nang – Ha Tinh, Nha Be – O Mon, Vinh Tan – Song May transmission lines, 220kV Nha Be – Tao Dan underground cable line; and 500kV Phu My, Nha Be, Tan Dinh, O Mon substations; 220kV Cai Lay substation, 220kV Tao Dan, Hiep Binh Phuoc GIS substations, etc. PECC2 has experienced human resources, modern equipment and facilities, and professional management and working methods. In every business line, the Company has qualified engineers in charge of project managers, who are also skilled in service management, client communication and foreign languages. As well as Vietnam, PECC2 activities have also extended to other countries in the region such as Cambodia, China, Laos, etc. The professionalism, expertise and experience of the Company has been much advanced through effective cooperation with many international consulting firms including among others: Australia, Canada, China, France, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States, etc. In line with the policy of open door and diversification of investors in electric power sector, in addition to traditional clients in EVN, the Company has been also providing its consulting services to other domestic and overseas investors.
