Academic Manager (Am)

Teacher Management and Delivery Quality
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The AM will normally be scheduled to work and teach at two nominated Language Link centres. Exceptional arrangements for work at any other location will be discussed and agreed upon on a case- by- case basis.
ASIC FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle all program related issues from teachers and TAs while onsite.
Work with Scheduler on hiring and rehiring of teachers and TAs
Maintain work ethic and professionalism of teachers and coordinate with HRAD and Operations to deal with disciplinary issues.
First responder on disciplinary issues. Escalate for resolution where necessary.
Provide new teacher and TA inductions.
Conduct placement tests, maintain placement test materials and train teachers on placement testing.
Receive Student and Parent feedback and address with teachers and TAs. Communicate with Operations as appropriate for additional actions or quality control system updates.
Be responsible for other tasks assigned.
Maintain and uplift academic quality through observation and performance review for teachers and Senior Teacher (ST).
Provide daily support to teachers and TAs in all academic areas; lesson planning, exploitation of resources, familiarization with curriculum, facilities, personnel and policies etc. programs.
Organize training workshops, sharing sessions and teachers’ meetings.
Center Management
Hire, interview and train a Senior Teacher in consultation with HR.
Be responsible for supporting business activities (Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, etc.) at the center level.
Manage teachers in attempts at Teachers’ Room cooperation and organization/ orderliness.
Delegate tasks to the ST as outlined by the ST Job Description.
Handle any student/class issues from teachers and escalate for program needs or issues of placement testing.
Develop Document Libraries, Training Resources and Facilities for Teachers. Ensure the security of the Center&039;s documents and resources
Work closely with the Center Managers to ensure clear communication between academic and business needs.
Work closely with the scheduler on issues such as: scheduling, cover classes, course teaching suitability, etc.
Field concerns/complaints from Operation about all teacher related issues.
Develop and maintain academic materials for center’s use
Teaching Duties
AMs will be initially designated to two centers, and the locations may be transitioned to other centers per Company’s needs as a whole.
School Base
AM will teach their own classes (up to 50 hours/months)
The AM will provide cover in case of emergency and if fits with his/her schedule. Accepting cover is at the discretion of the AM.
Development Duties
The AM is responsible for center specific development (holiday lessons, specific supplements, etc.)
AM will also contribute to broad curriculum development or contribution to large- scale academic development projects.

University graduated with a major in English and a minor in English Pedagogy.
English proficiency of IELTS 7.5 or higher.
At least 3 year working experience in similar role
