JOB PURPOSE:
Work on project based accounting assignments in support of local business units in Asia.
Translate financial requirements in a detailed action plan and execute this accordingly in cooperation with the local team.
Standardize ways of working in cooperation with local teams operating in BU’s by identifying and implementing best practices.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
PLANNING
Communicate the final plan and progress during execution in a timely and clear manner.
Translate accounting related assignments into specific and detail action plans to be executed with the local finance and accounting department.
Align with key stakeholders in order to arrive at a realistic and achievable planning.
* Result: Realistic plan to achieve the goals set related to accounting assignments, supported by (local) stakeholders.
STANDARDIZATION AND BEST PRACTICE SHARING
Work with local team to implement revised and improved accounting practices within the allotted time span.
Identify best practices and customize these to fit local requirements.
Understand key financial processes and setups in business units and in relation to the IT infrastructure.
* Result: Identification and creation of most efficient and standardized accounting processes across Asia.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
Provide internal or external training to the team based on individual requirements.
Conduct the customary performance reviews in accordance with De Heus policies.
Perform other management related activities such as approval of leave, organizing and leading team meetings, organizing team retreats, etc.
Effectively manage the project accounting team to enable smooth operations and efficient use of human resources.
* Result: An effective and efficient team well motivated to work for De Heus
REPORTING
Report progress on accounting assignment in a concise, clear and timely manner to senior management.
* Result: Useful and insightful information provided timely.
AUTOMATION
When assessing and improving accounting processes and executing assignments consider and propose automation improvements.
Support data, IT and controlling team with automation efforts if and when required.
* Result: Continuously improving processes to boost efficiency and minimize risks.
COMMUNICATION
Raise issues in a timely manner and discuss them with senior management.
Cooperate and communicate with subordinates and other key stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner.
Clearly manage expectations and avoid communication gaps.
* Result: Professional and efficient cooperation both within the department, with other departments and external stakeholders
RECOVERY SERVICES
Work intensively with local finance and accounting teams to improve reporting and accounting abilities on short term.
Align with local BU management and regional senior management on the action plan, execution, difficulties and progress of execution.
