We are looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated Agriculture Technical Staff member to join our team. The Agriculture Technical Staff will be responsible for supporting agricultural projects, conducting field research, and providing technical assistance to farmers. This role requires a deep understanding of agricultural practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Advisory Services: Advise farmers on crop selection, planting schedules, and fertilizer application to optimize yields and improve farm productivity. Diagnose and provide solutions for crop diseases, pest infestations, and other agricultural problems. Promote the adoption of environmentally sustainable farming practices.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the agriculture manager, research team, and other departments to coordinate efforts and achieve project goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, agribusinesses, and local agricultural organizations. Stay updated on the latest developments in agricultural science and technology.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of field activities, research data, and farmer interactions. Prepare and present technical reports, summaries, and recommendations to management and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with relevant agricultural regulations and standards.
Field Research and Data Collection: Conduct field research and experiments to gather data on crop performance, soil health, pest management, and other agricultural factors. Collect and analyze soil, water, and plant samples to determine nutrient levels and identify potential issues. Document research findings and prepare detailed reports for internal use and external stakeholders.
Technical Support and Training: Provide technical assistance and training to farmers on best practices for crop production, pest control, irrigation management, and sustainable agriculture techniques. Develop training materials and conduct workshops or field demonstrations to educate farmers on new technologies and methods. Assist in the implementation of agricultural projects and monitor their progress.
