AI Developer Experience Lead

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and innovative AI Development Experience Lead, who will be responsible for leading a small team dedicated to researching, experimenting with, and integrating AI- powered tools into our software development lifecycle. You’ll identify promising trends through focused R&D, validate them with hands- on exploration, and work closely with engineering teams to drive successful adoption. This is a leadership role combining technical insight, strategic planning, and change facilitation—shaping both our practices and our culture as we evolve into an AI- augmented engineering organization.
Essential Functions:

AI R&D and Strategy
Lead R&D efforts to identify, assess, and stay ahead of AI trends, tools, and best practices that can enhance developer productivity and experience.
Develop and drive a strategic roadmap to prioritize and sequence high- impact AI opportunities across the engineering lifecycle.
Proof of Concept, Alignment, and Adoption
Align AI initiatives with cross- functional goals, ensuring solutions address genuine developer needs and organizational priorities.
Partner with engineering, product, and data science teams to run proofs of concept, pilot AI tools in real workflows, and ensure solutions are adopted and integrated effectively.
Impact Measurement and Continuous Improvement
Establish and maintain fast feedback loops with developers, using insights to continuously refine and optimize AI tool integrations.
Define, track, and communicate success metrics to measure the impact of AI adoption on team efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
Team Leadership and Cultural Enablement
Champion a culture of experimentation and learning, encouraging teams to embrace new, AI- augmented ways of working.
Build and lead a high- impact team focused on AI- driven developer experience improvements.

The most successful candidates for this role will have:

Experience with AI tools and platforms relevant to software development.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in software engineering, with a deep understanding of development processes, tools, and best practices.
Familiarity with modern software development practices.
Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and managing projects.
Proven expertise in AI and machine learning, particularly in applications related to software development.
Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute technology roadmaps.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
Strong analytical skills to measure and interpret the impact of AI initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in developer productivity or developer experience roles.
Contributions to the AI or software development community (e.g., publications, open- source projects…)
Experience in change management and driving technology adoption within organizations.
