SCOPE OF WORK
This isn&039;t your typical coffee- fetching, file- organizing internship. As our AI Engineer Intern, you will bring technical expertise to shape next- generation AI solutions. You’ll work closely with BA, Product Owners, UI UX Designer, Software Engineers, and others in building AI- driven job simulations, mentorship matching, and content intelligence. Specifically, you will:
Architect & Develop AI Solutions
- Spearhead proof- of- concepts and prototypes for AI- driven features (e.g. Job Simulation, CV PowerUp, chatbots, content recommendations).
- Design efficient training and inference pipelines, including data preprocessing, model selection, hyperparameter tuning, and deployment strategies.
- Integrate advanced frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit- learn) for tasks such as NLP, computer vision, and generative models, aligning with the product’s roadmap.
Collaboration & Agile Development
- Work with Product Owners to define AI user stories and acceptance criteria, shaping the product backlog for AI features.
- Coach team members in advanced AI topics (transfer learning, large language models, time series, HPC, or other specialized areas you’re passionate about).
- Participate in daily stand- ups, sprints, and retrospectives, balancing technical constraints with user- centric goals.
- Coordinate with Back- End/Front- End teams for seamless integration of AI modules (e.g., RESTful APIs, microservices, or large language model endpoints).
- Provide technical guidance to cross- functional team members, reviewing code, ensuring best practices, and championing robust ML operations.
Testing, Optimization & Reliability
- Employ best- in- class security and privacy safeguards for user data, especially in workforce and career scenarios.
- Implement robust validation strategies (unit tests, cross- validation, data versioning) to ensure ML model reliability.
- Monitor performance metrics (accuracy, latency, resource consumption) in real- time, iterating quickly to reduce errors and optimize user experiences.
Innovation & Continuous Learning
- Drive an innovative community- of- experts ethos by regularly sharing knowledge, running internal technical workshops or demos, and iterating on new AI prototypes.
- Investigate cutting- edge AI research, HPC approaches, or advanced model architectures (Vision Transformers, GPT- based LLMs, etc.) that could improve Edtronaut’s AI stack.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We seek a highly capable AI engineering intern who, despite the “intern” title, wields in technical knowledge, architecture, and problem- solving:
AI/ML Expertise
- Comfortable building and fine- tuning models in Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit- learn) with a strong understanding of data pipelines, MLOps, or HPC approaches.
- Familiarity with advanced architectures (transformers, LLMs, generative models) and an appetite for continuing to learn cutting- edge methodologies.
Problem- Solving & Decision- Making
- Skilled at debugging, optimizing, or pivoting solutions based on real- time feedback and data insights.
- Adept at analyzing business or user needs, translating them into AI specs, and choosing the right models or approaches to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Collaborative & Communicative
- Ready to participate in daily stand- ups, incorporate feedback, and adapt to an agile, startup environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading student projects, hackathons, or advanced AI prototypes.
- Eager to guide cross- functional peers, offering code reviews, best practices, and architecture suggestions.
- Able to articulate complex ML concepts to non- technical team members.
Passion for Workforce Development
- Enthused about shaping how learners experience job simulations, skill assessments, or mentorship matching through AI.
- Genuinely motivated to create AI- driven products that make a difference in people’s careers.
Basic Requirements:
- Able to commit to 4- 5 days/week for a 3–6 month internship.
- Pursuing or recently finished a Computer Science / Data Science / Engineering degree, with advanced ML projects or coursework under your belt.
- Bonus: HPC programming (C++), Docker, or prior leadership in AI hackathons is a major plus.
- Demonstrable experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and code version control (Git).
