Aquaculture Project Manager

* The role
The aquaculture project manager will lead a project team of Fresh Studio aquaculture consultants in Vietnam and Myanmar. You will be responsible for the technical implementation and management of project activities. Your daily activities will consist of close collaboration with our local team of consultants and partner organizations to realize the ambitions of our clients. These ambitions range from enhancing aquaculture production systems, developing fish hatcheries, applied R&D, to developing training programs and extensions services.

* Duties & responsibilities
Provide technical advice related to production, R&D, and other field activities
Lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes.
Responsible for the quality control on all project deliverables
Responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of project deliverables
Forecast and track the pipeline of aquaculture related leads and proposals
Monitor project activities, project expenditures and the project budget
Trouble shoots project problems. Identify and implement solutions.
Review subcontracts and purchase orders.
Identify needs of clients and develop project proposals to support them
Train the trainers
 Technical backstopping
Ensure close collaboration and coordination with project partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results
 Project management
Develop and maintain effective working relations with customers
Ensure timely delivery of all required project reports/presentations and responsible for communication with the client
 Acquisition & business development
Develop high quality market research (aqua tech/input related) and derive recommendations for clients.
Review and develop training materials, survey instruments, and other materials required
Lead, coach and inspire project team members.
Support and work closely with the country manager(s) in the development of larger multi-disciplinary projects

 Excellent in both verbal and written English communication
 Eager to travel and discover
 Strong project management skills – organized, attention to detail, ability to challenge and convince stakeholders with different views
 Good understanding of Asian aquaculture production systems and the market
 Responsible, proactive and a positive thinker
 Excellent presentation skills
 5 years of experience in aquaculture, with a proven track record for project management
 Service orientated
 M.Sc. in aquaculture or agriculture.
