It is important that all Archesco employees have a clear understanding of the expectations of their duties and responsibilities. This job description outlines the major responsibilities for this role and is a guide to the employee and their managers as to their overall responsibilities. The employee recognizes that they may be required to undertake work that is outside of the specifics of this job description from time to time, as required and requested to do so for the good operations of the Archesco, and they agree to undertake all reasonable and lawful instructions provided to them. Following are the main duties and responsibilities for this position:
Responsibilities
• Lead the production of design drawings of medium or large scale projects by managing the team resources, ensuring the schedule of the project is met, coordinating within the team and across the other disciplines (Structural, Civil, MEP).
• Attend client meetings with their Design Manager or Director as required, and provide appropriate support and assistance to these meetings.
• Attend site meetings, check contractor submittals, meet suppliers and other construction- related functions as required under the supervision of the Design Manager.
• Manage other team members who are leading a project, and provide them with appropriate assistance to ensure the proper design quality and scheduling is met.
• Ensure that appropriate design quality standards (including following CAD standards) are met for all designs made within their team.
• Ensuring that the drawings for each project are well organized, clear and professional.
• Research via the internet, networking and meeting suppliers in order to identify appropriate materials for the project.
• Administrative management of the architectural team including checking time sheets, production progress, ensuring proper team time management and efficiency.

• Assign team members to their design team for each project, or for specific tasks within projects.
• Sign all drawings produced by their team.
• Report to the Design Manager regarding the contractor submittals, and ensure Design Manager approval.
• Check team member timesheets and approve or adjust them as appropriate.
• Attend interviews for team member recruitment.

Competencies
• Degree qualified in Architecture.
• Intermediate knowledge of design standards and codes.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in Architecture and Design Coordination, and a minimum of 3 years experience leading architectural design teams.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Advanced skills with AutoCAD, and a good working knowledge of Revit.
• Advanced design management and organizational skills with the ability to manage the time of others in an efficient manner, ensuring that project milestones are met within expected timeframes.
• Advanced ability to produce design details including: waterproofing, windows, etc.
